The first session will focus on the future of the Common Market Organisation (CMO) for fruit and vegetables, examining the consequences of the ongoing reform and the role of sectoral interventions within the future architecture of the CAP and the multiannual financial framework.
The second session will broaden the debate to include innovation and food safety, analysing the changes introduced by the ‘omnibus package’ on simplification in the areas of food safety and animal feed, as well as their implications for European producers’ ability to access innovative solutions.
The common thread running through these two sessions will be the competitiveness and resilience of the European fruit and vegetables sector: how EU policies can provide producers with effective tools to organise themselves, invest, innovate and tackle increasingly complex economic, environmental and regulatory challenges.
