The Campaign for the Promotion and Dissemination of Spanish Citrus Fruit held its first edition of its “Spain’s Citrus Fruit Ambassadors” Awards in Valencia, distinguishing José Vercher, chairman of Bollo International Fruit, Cristóbal Aguado, chairman of AVA – ASAJA, the company Anecoop S. Coop., and Carmen Cabra, editor of the magazine Fruit Today.
All the prize-winners gave their thanks for this award and “showed their commitment to defending the citrus fruit sector and underlined the importance of continuing to work on promotion and marketing, two essential tools for the agrifood sector as a whole.”
The Campaign has a new event on the 29th of June in Almeria, where it will hold a new meeting to pay tribute to the Almeria citrus fruit growers who, in the opinion of the campaign’s coordinator, the agrifood journalist, Francisco Seva, “is a good example of the know-how of Andalusian citrus fruit growing, and we believe that it is fair to recognise the work they have carried out, including both farmers and companies.”
Additionally, the Campaign will develop the “Spanish Citrus Fruit Ambassadors” awards in the United States and in Mexico from 2020 onwards.
