The 18th edition of the trade fair, which will take place from 6 to 8 October, will bring together more than 2,500 companies, occupy 162,000 square metres and welcome over 121,000 professionals from 150 countries, consolidating its position as one of the leading international events for the fresh produce sector.

Spain’s strength as a global leader in the fruit and vegetable market will be reflected in the presence of all the country’s fruit- and vegetable-producing autonomous regions. International participation will also be strengthened with the addition of new countries, including Armenia, Australia, Guatemala, Indonesia, Ireland, the British Virgin Islands, Japan, Malaysia, the Czech Republic, Sweden and Tunisia. This will further enhance the diversity of the offering and the trade fair’s commercial reach.

A commitment to innovation and knowledge

Alongside its extensive exhibition offering, Fruit Attraction will once again place innovation and knowledge at the heart of its value proposition. The call for entries for the Innovation Hub Awards, which recognise the sector’s most innovative and sustainable solutions, is already open. Exhibitors and co-exhibitors will be able to submit their best projects, products or services until 2 September.

Registration is also open for a new edition of the Best Stand Awards, an initiative sponsored by WAH that recognises exhibitors’ creativity, innovation and commitment to sustainability. Entries may also be submitted until 2 September and are open to all exhibitors participating in the upcoming edition with a custom-designed stand.

Meanwhile, Factoría Chef is once again consolidating its position as Fruit Attraction’s most dynamic culinary space. Designed for companies in the Fresh Produce area to showcase the gastronomic qualities of their products through engaging showcookings, registration will remain open until 27 September.

This year, potatoes will be the star product, in recognition of the sector’s strategic role in contributing to food security and maintaining a healthy diet. Against this backdrop, on 5 October, the day before the trade fair opens, the 1st International Potato Symposium will take place. Organised by FEPEX, the event aims to revitalise the sector against a backdrop of declining acreage and production in the EU. It will also highlight potatoes as a strategic crop and an essential product for food security, while promoting collaboration and knowledge exchange among the different stakeholders.

Fruit Attraction will also once again promote the Organic Tour, a specially signposted route through the trade fair designed to give greater visibility to companies offering certified organic products.

Fruit Attraction will provide a platform for international growth and expansion through its International Buyers Programme. With the collaboration of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, ICEX and FEPEX, the programme will invite 700 major buyers, retail purchasing managers, importers and wholesalers from more than 50 countries to attend the fair.

Another highlight will be the Guest Importing Countries programme, with China and the United Arab Emirates taking centre stage this year.
