From 3 to 5 February 2027, Fruit Logistica will once again bring the international fresh produce industry together in Berlin, with an even stronger focus on innovation.

Under the motto “One Innovation Journey – From New to Proven Success”, the new Innovation Zone will combine the Fruit Logistica Innovation Award (FLIA), the Fruit Logistica Innovation Showcases (FLIS) and the Innovation Stage in one dedicated area.

The aim is to provide a clearer view of how new products, services and technologies evolve, distinguishing between solutions that have only recently entered the market and those that have already demonstrated their commercial potential.

A shared space for the sector’s latest innovations

Christina Freier, Project Director of Fruit Logistica, explains that innovation has always been a core part of the trade fair, but the new area will bring all these initiatives together in one central location for the first time.

Participating companies will be able to present their developments to an international professional audience, increase their visibility and generate new business contacts in a space specifically designed around the sector’s future trends.

The FLIA changes location and schedule

The Fruit Logistica Innovation Award, which has recognised innovative products, services and technologies for more than 20 years, will now be incorporated into the new zone.

Eligible solutions must have been on the market for less than 12 months by the time the trade fair takes place.

Nominees will also have the opportunity to present their products and solutions on the Innovation Stage, while the award ceremony will take place on the first day of the 2027 event, making it one of the opening highlights of the programme.

From new launches to proven market solutions

Another major change concerns the former New Product Showcases, which will be further developed under the new name Fruit Logistica Innovation Showcases (FLIS).

While the FLIA will continue to focus on the latest launches, the FLIS will feature innovations that have been on the market for between one and three years and have already demonstrated their commercial relevance.

The format is intended to answer one of the key questions for trade visitors: which innovations have successfully moved from launch stage to real-world application?

Selected companies will also be able to showcase their solutions and present them directly to professional audiences.

Innovation Stage as a hub for knowledge exchange

The Innovation Stage will form the core of the new zone and will host a significant part of the content programme.

Alongside presentations linked to the FLIA and FLIS, it will feature expert discussions, best-practice examples and talks focusing on technology, automation, sustainability and future trends.

Throughout the three days of Fruit Logistica, the stage will also serve as a central meeting point for knowledge transfer, networking and the development of new business relationships.

Greater visibility for emerging trends

Bringing all these formats together in Hall 3.2 is designed to make it easier for professional visitors to navigate the show and identify the solutions with the greatest potential.

In one location, they will be able to discover newly launched products, assess technologies that have already proved successful in the market and connect directly with the companies behind them.

With the launch of the Innovation Zone, Fruit Logistica is strengthening its commitment to providing a more complete view of the innovation process within the fresh produce sector, from the earliest launch phase through to commercial consolidation.
