Hispatec Italy is launched

The Spanish group Hispatec – with 40 years of history, more than 200 professionals, and over 750 clients across more than 30 countries worldwide – is bringing to Italy the only digital ecosystem that natively and seamlessly covers the entire agri-food value chain: from agronomic field management to international logistics, including storage, packing, marketing, and management control. A solution built over decades of experience in the most demanding fresh produce markets globally
HISPATEC-ITALIA

Hispatec, an international group specialised in software and data intelligence for agri-food networks, has announced the launch of Hispatec Italy, the group’s first fully autonomous company outside Spain. This move is part of the international expansion strategy initiated following the entry of Three Hills Capital Partners into the company’s capital in 2024, and represents Hispatec’s first direct investment in a non-Iberian European market.

Logistics and quality – Control Tower Pro

This solution monitors shipments in real time across all transport channels, centralises document management, handles non-conformities and claims, and shares information with customers and suppliers. It also includes analytical dashboards to assess carrier performance and the impact of logistics on margins.

Intelligence and data – Margaret

Margaret is Hispatec’s Artificial Intelligence and Big Data platform for agriculture, developed since 2021. It integrates generative models to produce forecasts, simulate scenarios, and support decision-making across the entire value chain. Hispatec is also a founding partner of the International ENIA Chair “Artificial Intelligence and Agriculture”, together with the University of Córdoba (Spain) and the University of Melbourne (Australia). The group invests more than €3 million annually in R&D activities.

Why Italy

The decision to enter Italy as the group’s first key European market for direct investment is based on solid data. According to ISTAT, the value of Italian agricultural production reached €74.6 billion in 2024. The country ranked first in the European Union for agricultural added value (€42.4 billion, source: MASAF), while agri-food exports exceeded €70 billion. A sector of this scale and international reach requires management tools capable of handling its complexity.

Currently, the technological offering in the Italian market is fragmented and largely focused on pre-harvest solutions designed for small-scale operators.

Hispatec positions itself differently: targeting complex supply chains, large producers, cooperatives, and producer organisations that need to integrate data and processes across the entire value chain.

Hispatec Italy at Macfrut 2026

Companies and operators interested in Hispatec’s solutions will be able to discover them first-hand at Macfrut (Rimini, 21–23 April 2026), the leading Italian trade fair dedicated to the fresh produce supply chain. Participation in the event will mark the official launch of Hispatec Italy in the national market.

The group has long participated in major international events – from Fruit Attraction in Madrid to Fruit Logistica in Berlin – and will bring to Macfrut the same technical expertise and live demonstration capabilities of its solutions.

Antonio Samaritani, General Manager of Hispatec Italy, stated:

“The Italian market is showing a growing need for tools that enable companies to manage operations, quality, supply chain and financial control in a more connected way. What we offer is not just another vertical software: it is the possibility of having a single, reliable source for all processes along the chain, from the field to the final customer. Hispatec Italy’s goal is to support this evolution with a strong local presence, an industrial approach, and a technological proposal designed to turn data into a real driver of efficiency and competitiveness.”

Founded 40 years ago in Almería and a recognised leader in the AgriFoodTech market in Spain and Latin America, Hispatec has built a comprehensive technological ecosystem for agribusiness. The company operates through offices and structures in nine countries – Spain, Portugal, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Brazil, Costa Rica, and now Italy – and has delivered projects in more than 30 countries across five continents. The group currently employs over 200 professionals and serves more than 750 active clients across Europe, Latin America, and Africa.

With Hispatec Italy, the group brings to the Italian market not only a new corporate presence, but also a fully integrated digitalisation model for the agri-food sector, designed to support every stage of the chain – from field operations to production, logistics, and administrative management – through to delivery to the final customer. The goal is to build a stable presence over the next three years and become a key partner for high-value agri-food supply chains.

A unique ecosystem: the entire chain on a single platform

Hispatec’s competitive advantage is structural and difficult to replicate: no other operator in the Italian market currently offers a native digital ecosystem that fully and continuously integrates the entire agri-food value chain, from farm to consumer.

Hispatec’s solutions are not independent modules linked through later integrations: they are designed to share the same data and provide a unified, real-time view of all processes. Data recorded in the field automatically feeds post-harvest management; production costs are directly transferred to industrial accounting; shipments are monitored using the same qualitative data generated during packing.

For cooperatives, producer organisations and large agri-food groups – which often manage their operations through fragmented tools, spreadsheets, and generic ERP systems not designed for agriculture – this translates into clear operational benefits: reduced data dispersion, greater process control, and decision-making based on real data rather than estimates.

From field to customer: how Hispatec covers each stage of the chain

Hispatec does not sell modules: it supports processes. Its ecosystem covers four stages of the value chain, each supported by a dedicated solution fully integrated with the others.

Pre-harvest – Efemis

A Farm Management Information System (FMIS) for pre-harvest management. It enables planning and control of agronomic activities, digital field notebooks (compliant with Italian regulations), integrated phytosanitary management with official MAPA catalogues, satellite imagery, GIS and IoT sensors, and automatic cost calculation per plot. The mobile app works even offline and includes WhatsApp notifications and the Margaret AI assistant. Efemis also provides specific functionalities for growers and input distributors, including data-driven agronomic recommendations, technical management of client plots, and integration with weather stations and official phytosanitary catalogues.

Post-harvest and commercialisation – ERPagro

A vertical ERP for post-harvest and commercial operations. It covers the entire cycle of storage, packing, and sales: procurement and grower settlements, production planning, warehouse and inventory management, end-to-end traceability, accounting, finance, and human resources. It natively integrates pre-harvest data, eliminating duplicate data entry and ensuring consistency across the entire value chain.
