The agricultural world will look towards Almeria on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th of May, as the Infoagro Exhibition will be held in the Aguadulce Convention Centre (Almeria), the intensive production meeting that this year will arrive with its new ranking as an international trade fair, after the resolution adopted on the 17th of December, 2018, by the Secretary of State for Trade from the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism.

500 companies from intensive production and auxiliary industries will take part In its third edition and around 40,000 trade visitors will attend, representing 20 countries.

This time, trends such as the rise in the demand for ecological produce will be visible through the trademark Vía Eco’, whilst the latest technology will also have a prominent place in the Smart Startup Infoagro space, where a set of technologically-based companies will inform about cutting-edge projects in agricultural digitalisation. Likewise, a total of 48 companies will offer talks about their products and services, all of which have free entry for visitors to the trade fair.

Simultaneously, a cycle of conferences and cooking demonstrations with vegetables from Almeria will be carried out. Renowned national speakers will share their knowledge about the challenges faced by farming, with regard to agricultural economics and marketing, innovations such as the CRISPR-CAS technology in vegetable improvement, the boom in consumption of ecological produce, bio-economics, and the use of micro-organisms in agricultural soil. The block of conferences devoted to Water Resources, aimed at offering solutions and encouraging a debate forum about the future of irrigation water should be highlighted. An essential topic for the province of Almeria, which suffers from a water shortage of 163 Hm³.

In its third edition, Infoagro Exhibition is now becoming consolidated, not only as a business hub for agricultural producers, but also as the forum in which the sector pools the latest innovations and advances that make its continuous development possible, allowing the latest technical knowledge to reach the fields for its practical application.
