Bio Montaña is now BioWorld

15 October, 2018

Biomontaña Fruit Today

The announcement was made at the beginning of the year of the merger of Bio Montaña, Biofrucht Niederrhein and Bio World, the three belonging to Best Fresh Group, in order to sell its produce jointly. And now they will continue to do this, but using a new brand and image, ie, BioWorld (the corporate name for tax purposes will continue to be Montaña S.L.).

This is one of the most important developments that will be revealed on their stand (6B01) at Fruit Attraction, but it will not be the only one. During this campaign, its operating force has increased considerably with an extra open air 650 hectares in Cadiz, working alongside a farmer to produce cauliflowers, broccoli, sweet potatoes, celery, carrots, brussel sprouts… At the same time, they continue with production under plastic from Motril to Níjar. “We schedule the productions in terms of how they adapt to the type of land,” explains Job Van den Berg, Managing Director of the company. For this year, they foresee reaching an invoicing of 50 million euros and 30,000 TM including all the references, all of them in bio and with over 70% of all the fruit and vegetables grown under plastic. All kinds of produce may be found in its offer, from tropical fruits (5% of its volume) to exotic fruits such as ginger, turmeric and passion fruit, a segment where it plans to grow.
