The company Vellsam Materias Bioactivas has an extensive portfolio of solutions adapted to each phenological phase of broccoli and cauliflower
Broccoli and cauliflower crops, as with other plants, need essential nutritional elements to develop correctly. These can be differentiated into primary macronutrients (nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium), secondary macronutrients (magnesium, calcium and sulphur) and micronutrients (manganese, copper, chlorine, molybdenum, zinc, iron and boron). All of them play essential roles and the absence or excess of any of them can cause problems in the crop cycle.
To design a correct fertilisation programme for any vegetable species, the nutrients available in the soil and those provided by irrigation water must be known. For this reason, a soil and water analysis should be carried out to perfectly adjust the amount of fertiliser to be applied, based on the plant’s requirements in each cultivation phase, and therefore decreasing any losses. For a correct nutrition, Vellsam Materias Bioactivas has several solutions adapted to each phenological phase.
For a good initial development, the company has the NPK Gel PlantPower 7-20-7 line, which can be applied from transplantation until the head starts forming. Complementary to this, Bactron, a powerful soil regenerator is recommended, along with Rhyzoprime, a growth enhancer, applied in the first phases of development.
In the middle of the cycle, for the growth phases and the beginning of the head formation, it is advisable to apply glycine-betaine plus proline-based bio stimulants (Osmogreen Plus); high efficiency amino acids (Vellamin 24), as well as algae-based formulas (Algavell and/or Eklovit), indicated for situations with extreme temperatures, drought or salinity, which help to reduce the incidence of ailments. In this way, the crops are protected against hydric and thermal stress.
To close the cycle, products with a calcium and potassium-base, such as Vellca Plus, combined with Vellpotasium, are essential during the formation, filling out and termination of heads. The use of Molibore, with a boron and molybdenum base, is also important due to the short, cycle with fast growth and high production.
