La Linea Verde Group, an agri-food company specialising in ready-to-eat fresh products, has announced the acquisition of Belgian company BCS Butterfly and French firm La Ferme d’Anchin, both specialised in the production of fresh soups. The transaction, carried out through its French subsidiary La Ligne Verte, strengthens the group’s presence in Northern Europe and reinforces its positioning in the “fresh convenience” segment.
These acquisitions are part of the group’s growth strategy, aimed at driving the development of the fresh prepared meals category, with a particular focus on chilled soups, one of the most dynamic and high-potential segments in the European market.
Together, the two companies generate an estimated turnover of €22 million (2025 data) and have a strong presence in modern retail channels in their respective markets. In Belgium, Butterfly is positioned as a leading brand in the chilled fresh soup segment, while in France, La Ferme d’Anchin holds a market share of շուրջ 48%, establishing itself as a key operator.
The integration will enhance collaboration with major European retailers, with whom the group is already working to expand its product range and develop new categories. In addition, the operation will strengthen logistics infrastructure in Northern Europe through the incorporation of new production sites and distribution centres, enabling greater market proximity and more efficient management of fresh products.

According to Domenico Battagliola, CEO of La Linea Verde Group, “this transaction represents a significant step in our internationalisation strategy. Fresh soups are a key category due to their ability to meet demand for practical, healthy and high-quality solutions.”
Currently, around 50% of the group’s turnover comes from international markets, a figure expected to continue growing through targeted acquisitions such as this. La Linea Verde’s development model is based on integrating the agricultural supply chain, industrial capacity and consumer insight—an approach the company aims to extend to new European markets.
The acquired companies will retain their local identity and continue operating with their current teams, in a process that combines operational autonomy with gradual integration into the group’s structure. The commitment to local suppliers, particularly for fresh raw materials, will also be maintained as a key factor in ensuring product quality.
With this move, La Linea Verde continues advancing its ambition to establish itself as an integrated European operator in the fresh products segment, combining innovation, proximity and category development in collaboration with modern retail.
