Unica has added a new reference to its dried snack range
If Unica is known for something (in addition to its determined commitment to integration), it is for its R&D strategy and its quick adoption of new trends. At the end of last year, they opened a new line of healthy snacks with the brand, BuenOh! and recently they have added a reference, mango, to the existing ones: apples, pineapple and Sweet Palermo pepper. “Up to now this variety (of mango) was being shown to our customers, but it is now being marketed through the Amazon Spain website, in vending machines and gourmet stores. We are always looking for new varieties to extend the range,” explained the assistant manager of Unica, Diego Calderón.
The BuenOh! range of dried snacks is 100% natural and is characterised by its extra-crunchy texture (less than 2% humidity), thanks to a patented process that maintains the flavour and the organoleptic properties without adding sugar, salt, fats or other additives or preservatives. The company intends to position itself on the market with a reference product, ideal for vegans and suitable for celiacs.
At present, the BuenOh! Project is in an initial phase in Spain, the United Kingdom and Germany. It is presented in 15g bags, equivalent to 150g of fresh product. A convenient format that allows consumers to eat a healthy, fun snack, anytime, anywhere.
Regarding fresh produce, Unica continues to develop snack ranges in tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers, opting for flavour and working on attractive, easy-to-use presentation methods. To do this, “we maintain a close relationship with the seed companies in order to develop new concepts, either exclusively or in a club format.”
‘Veggies’ just a click away
In March, www.latiendadeunica.es was set in motion to sell fresh fruit and vegetables. “Consumers’ lack of time means that they have to buy online. For us, it is a first contact, currently our volume still small. The key lies in selling quality, varied produce, which arrives reasonably fast and at competitive prices.”
