Good prospects for Tirreno

The seed company Tozer is looking to the new campaign with good sales forecasts for Tirreno, its broccoli variety. The material, launched three years ago, worked very well last year, and for this year they foresee an increase in sales. “We expect to have a very good campaign, and there is good seed availability,” explains Carmen Sánchez, Communications and Logistics Manager.

This produce can be used both for the fresh market and for industry, and it can be harvested as single heads and by florets.

Its heads, domed with very short florets and small in size, are very compact and heavy. Likewise, the seed company emphasises the high position of the heads, the deep green colour and the fact that it is anthocyanin-free.

The plant, hardy and very robust, upright and with deep green leaves, behaves well in cold weather, as well as having good tolerance against diseases such as alternaria. Good conservation in the field and significant post-harvest behaviour complete its characteristics.
