Reiter Smith succeeds Soren Bjorn, who will continue to support the company during the transition period and collaborate on key strategic priorities. Bjorn joined Driscoll’s in 2006 and was appointed CEO in 2023.
“Soren’s intellect, strength of character and commitment to Driscoll’s mission of continually delighting berry consumers by aligning with our customers and berry growers have been a hallmark of his leadership across the various roles he has held,” said the company’s executive chairman, Miles Reiter, in a press release.
Driscoll’s welcomes an experienced leader
Reiter Smith has held several positions at the company co-founded by her grandfather, Joe Reiter.
She has grown blueberries in Chile, overseen the company’s quality and product leadership areas for the Americas, and served as a director and vice chair of the board.
“While I may not have followed the traditional path to this role, no one believes more deeply in our company’s mission than I do,” said Reiter Smith.
The new CEO highlighted the team built by her predecessor, describing it as “a true testament to his leadership and vision”. She also reaffirmed her commitment to the company in her new role.
“The berries we put on tables around the world are the same ones I feed my three young daughters every day. I am honoured to continue the tradition of making a positive impact on people’s lives, working with honesty, passion and humility,” she concluded.
