Morocco has strengthened its leading position in the UK market for fresh raspberries, according to a report by EastFruit. In the 2025/26 marketing year, running from July 2025 to June 2026, the United Kingdom imported around 18,400 tonnes of raspberries from Morocco, worth more than £132.7 million —approximately €154.7 million.
This volume represents a moderate increase of 1.6% compared with the previous season, while also setting a new record for Moroccan shipments to this market. The performance is particularly significant given the overall decline in UK raspberry imports.
Almost two thirds of the UK market
According to EastFruit analysts, Moroccan raspberry exports to the United Kingdom have increased 2.6-fold since the 2020/21 season. Over the same period, Morocco’s market share has risen from 21.3% to 62.9%.
This means that almost two thirds of the raspberries imported by the UK now come from Morocco. Spain remains the second most important supplier, while Portugal, Germany, the Netherlands and South Africa also contribute additional volumes.
A growing berry market
The UK berry market remains one of the most dynamic segments within the fruit category. According to CBI data, sales are growing at an average annual rate of 4.3%, while more than 85% of consumers buy berries.
At the beginning of 2025, the total value of the UK berry market exceeded the £2 billion mark for the first time, equivalent to around €2.33 billion.
