HM.Clause is already looking ahead to the next campaign with significant additions to its portfolio. In broccoli, the company is introducing Legatus F1, a variety developed for growers looking to produce during the warmest periods of the year. This new introduction complements the existing range, which already includes Pretorian F1 and Gladiador F1, both recommended for winter plantings.
José Miguel Reyes Deza, Marketing Communication Coordinator, outlines the main characteristics of Legatus F1, describing it as “an early-maturing variety” with a growing cycle of 65–70 days. Suitable for plantings from February to August, Legatus F1 offers high plant vigour, excellent uniformity and strong plant health under heat stress conditions. The heads are dome-shaped, with medium-fine bead size and excellent cold storage performance.
“With Legatus F1, we complete our broccoli portfolio, offering outstanding varieties throughout the entire season: Gladiador F1 and Pretorian F1 for the colder months, and Legatus F1 for the warmest periods.”
Vamana F1, the latest innovation in courgettes
In courgettes, the seed company continues to rely on flagship varieties such as Dharma F1, which marked a turning point thanks to its resistance to New Delhi, as well as Px and ZYMV. Last year, the variety celebrated its fifth anniversary and continues to be a benchmark for the early production cycle in Almería.
Designed for sowings from late July to early September, Dharma F1 delivers reliability, productivity and quality thanks to its open plant architecture with short internodes and horizontally positioned leaves, making crop management easier. Its fruits are straight, dark green and glossy, while the flowers detach easily during harvesting.
With Dharma F1, HM.Clause launched its No-ND portfolio, which has since been expanded with Mandala F1, Yakarta F1, Arkana F1 and, most recently, Vamana F1.

The latest addition, Vamana F1, combines resistance to New Delhi and powdery mildew with a broad production window, making it suitable for summer, autumn and spring cropping cycles. Featuring medium vigour and short internodes, the plant is compact and highly productive, concentrating its yield over a short period.
Like Dharma F1, it produces straight, dark, glossy fruits with a small pistil scar that allows the flower to detach easily during harvest. An additional advantage of Vamana F1 is its higher fruit density compared with older varieties, resulting in greater individual fruit weight and higher overall yields.
