3rd Half Marathon in L’ Alcudia

For the third year running, the Valencian town of L`Alcudia will hold the 3rd Persimon Half Marathon, organised by the Canso cooperative and the town’s Caixa Rural.

This edition expects to beat its own records, due to the large amount of participants who have signed up for it. Last year, the meeting brought together over 3,000 people amongst participants and bystanders.

“The route will start from Avenida de la Cooperativa itself and there are already over one thousand runners who have registered, belonging to different clubs in the region, and even some international clubs”, Cirilo Arnandis, chairman of Canso explained.

This Half Marathon in L’Alcudia intends to pay homage to the new golden fruit from la Ribera, which has allowed the region’s farming revenue to be saved and which, in this way, is also promoting its consumption on the national market.

The trial will run for around 4 kilometres through the town and around 13 kilometres through fields of persimmons belonging to the town itself and to the neighbouring town of Benimodo.

During the event, packs of healthy produce and persimmons will be given out amongst the participants. And the cooperative will donate a kilo of food for every participant registered that will go to the charity Cáritas and the Food Bank of L’Alcudia.
