With the national campaign just started, what harvest forecasts are expected?

The forecast is for a campaign with very good quality, which will move somewhat faster than last year, and with normal volumes. The quality of the early varieties is very good, but volumes are lower than last year.

How has the import campaign developed? What volumes has it reached?

In terms of volume, the import campaign has been the best since Uvasdoce Fresh began to extend its campaign. With an increase of 30% compared to last year. Quality has been very consistent and homogeneous, with a high quality standard.

What are your main growing areas?

Our main growing area continues to be the Vinalopó Valley, with 90% of our production. Although we are already starting to look for farms outside our area, in order to extend our calendar.

Regarding sales, what are the main destination markets? Has any new one been added recently?

Mainly the national market, Ireland and the UK. This year we are going to start exporting to Canada.

How is the ‘Las Chuches de Uvasdoce’ range evolving?

It is a range with good brand recognition, which is increasingly in demand. Therefore, it is following an upward path, which we hope will continue this campaign.

What varieties make up ‘Las Chuches’? What are their main characteristics? Are new additions being prepared?

The varieties that we include under the ‘Las Chuches’ brand are the candies range, varieties such as Candy Snaps, Candy Hearts or Candy Crunch.

And other varieties are already coming on strong, which at the moment are codes, but which soon, we are sure, will be varieties as well known and in demand as those mentioned above.

Grapes are one of the few fruits whose consumption has increased. What do you think this is due to?

To the great varietal development of recent years. With varieties of attractive calibres, attractive colours and exceptional flavours. Added to this is the ease of consumption that grapes offer, as you can eat them anywhere, at any time.

Have you made any recent investments in facilities and machinery?

In the field, we have planted new hectares, but above all we have reconverted those varieties that were no longer giving good results or that had less demand. In the packing facilities, this year some improvements have been made to improve flows and safety within the packing area. In addition, we are immersed in a project to double, in the very near future, the capacity of our facilities.
