Seven halls, 40,000 m², over 1,000 exhibitors, 1,000 buyers, 50 events including workshops and meetings: this is the extensive entrance to Macfrut 2016
Record-beating figures at the 33rd edition of Macfrut, which took place from the 14th to the 16th of September at Rimini Fiera. The exhibition surface area increased from 6 to 7 halls, with 40,000 m² of area occupied (20% more than in 2015). There were over one thousand exhibitors, with 139 new companies (of which 26 come from abroad). One of every four exhibitors came from abroad and 1,000 buyers attended the fair. The main innovations were exhibited, with particular emphasis on future points of sale, with 35 new products from the fruit and vegetable sector. Approximately fifty events were hold: conferences, meetings and business conventions organised by the exhibitors. There are two key words when talking about Macfrut: internationalisation and innovation.
The fruit and vegetable sector has always been one of the most innovative within the agri-food sector, and Macfrut is the ideal showcase to present new projects: 35 new products were presented over the three days.
In order to exploit innovation in production and in technologies from the fruit and vegetable sector, the Macfrut Innovation Award has been confirmed, which will be given to the most significant technical innovation in terms of environmental and economic sustainability and improvement in quality of the products.
Special emphasis has been placed on the future points of sale at the New Retail Solution centre, a space that proposes innovative solutions for bulk and packaged produce, fitted with analogical and digital instruments.
