Joya®, the Spanish apple that keeps the fruit aisle dynamic

Its name is Joya® and it is the ideal apple for the end of the season, during the hottest months, when its tangy, refreshing flavour really makes the difference
joya-manzana

Red, juicy and crunchy, this locally grown apple is produced on high-quality soils and harvested by hand. It has an excellent storage capacity and reaches its organoleptic peak in spring and summer, when it is ready to bring colour to the fruit and vegetable aisle in supermarkets and traditional markets.

The Joya® family

Grown in France, Italy and Spain, Joya® brings together more than 512 growers and 672 hectares as part of a modern project that continues to expand.

Outstanding storage capacity

Harvested in autumn, Joya® has an excellent natural storage capacity, allowing it to maintain its qualities intact from April until the end of August. This means the apple remains at its best even in summer.

Joya® therefore represents a high-quality, European alternative to imports from the Southern Hemisphere.

An apple appreciated by consumers

At European level, the marketable volume of Joya® apples reaches 21,900 tonnes. Thanks to its bright colour and crunchy texture, the variety meets the expectations of consumers looking for quality apples right through to the end of the season.

Joya® also stands out in Europe after receiving the “Sabor del Año 2026” recognition in Spain and France, awards that acknowledge its taste and consumer appreciation. With an overall satisfaction score of 8.86, this variety has achieved the highest rating among Spanish consumers.

A powerful promotional campaign

This season, sales will be supported by a strong promotional and communication campaign, with more than 100 targeted actions planned from June onwards. These will take place both at major retail points of sale and in key wholesale markets, including tastings and visibility materials in the fruit aisles of six major Spanish cities: Madrid, Bilbao, Galicia, Barcelona, Málaga and Seville.

In addition, consumer-facing actions will include several “on-the-road” initiatives and an on-pack competition offering major prizes, including a summer getaway.

To celebrate its major return, Joya® will also collaborate with LOS40 SUMMER LIVE 2026, in a perfect combination of music, positive energy and the freshness that defines the Joya® apple.

The event will bring together many of the artists behind the biggest summer hits and, as every year, will attract large audiences in Spain’s main summer destinations. Thanks to its wide reach, expected attendance and strong engagement with holidaymakers, this collaboration will reinforce the brand’s visibility strategy, as well as its on-the-ground activations close to consumers.
