Türkiye positions itself as an industrial bridge with MAKTEK

European industry continues to face high energy and labour costs, while the recovery of industrial production across the EU in 2024 and 2025 has remained uneven

In this context, many companies are diversifying their supply chains and adopting nearshoring strategies to reduce dependence on long-distance logistics routes and mitigate geopolitical risks in Asia.

Türkiye is increasingly featured in these strategic analyses. The country is part of the EU Customs Union for industrial goods, has a well-established industrial base and offers competitive operating costs, in addition to a strategic location connecting European and Asian markets.

Against this backdrop, the international industrial machinery trade fair MAKTEK Eurasia 2026 will take place from 28 September to 3 October 2026 at the Tüyap Fair and Congress Center. The event aims to further consolidate Türkiye’s role as a strategic production hub between Europe and Asia. It will bring together manufacturers, technology suppliers and trade delegations from Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia, at a time when industrial players are redefining their supply chains and production footprints.

“Global manufacturing balances are being reshaped. MAKTEK Eurasia 2026 sends a clear message to the international business community about Türkiye’s production capacity, logistics capabilities and industrial talent,” said İlhan Ersözlü, General Manager of Tüyap Fairs Production Inc.. “For Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia, Türkiye is positioning itself as a reliable and sustainable partner for industry and trade.”

Organised by Tüyap Fairs and Exhibitions Organization Inc., in collaboration with the machine tool manufacturers’ association TİAD, and supported by the Turkish Machinery Manufacturers Association (MİB) and the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye, the 2026 edition will be held under the slogan “Türkiye is the key”, highlighting the country’s ambition to become a regional production and logistics hub.

Focus on advanced manufacturing

The 2026 edition will centre on next-generation production systems under the concept “DAHA” (“more”), referring to faster, more efficient, more precise and smarter processes.

Key technologies on display will include advanced CNC machinery, sheet metal processing systems, industrial robotics, automation platforms and digital manufacturing software.

The fair will also highlight Industry 4.0 applications and emerging Industry 5.0 solutions, including digital twins and data-driven production models.

A new interactive format: MAKTEKVERSE

One of the main novelties of this edition will be MAKTEKVERSE, an interactive platform designed to expand the traditional exhibition format.

This space will include:

  • Tech-Force Area, focused on university projects, tech startups and engineering innovation
  • Effect-Force Area, dedicated to industry discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions

“The aim is to connect established manufacturers with new generations of engineers and technology developers, in line with ongoing efforts in Europe and neighbouring regions to bridge the talent gap in advanced industry,” added Ersözlü.

Strong early demand

Organisers have confirmed strong initial demand from exhibitors. According to official figures, 52% of the exhibition space was booked within the first 45 days, with occupancy expected to exceed 70% once ongoing negotiations are finalised.

In addition to the exhibition area, the fair will feature partner country programmes, international delegations and B2B meetings, designed to foster new commercial partnerships between European and Eurasian manufacturers.
