Jingold strengthens southern hemisphere presence

Jingold, the Italian company specialised in premium kiwifruit, has moved into the heart of its southern hemisphere commercial season, supported by production in Chile, Argentina and South Africa. This structure allows the brand to guarantee continuity of supply for its premium varieties to the main European markets during the summer months

The offer ranges from the innovative Exotic Red red-fleshed kiwifruit to Jingold yellow-fleshed kiwifruit, as well as the growing development of organic Hayward green kiwifruit from Argentina. Southern hemisphere programme strengthens the company’s strategy of providing a high-quality range 12 months a year.

The campaign began at the end of May with the first sales of red-fleshed kiwifruit, which is now entering its final phase, while sales of yellow kiwifruit started in the second half of June.

“First results are positive and confirm customer interest in having Jingold product available during the summer months as well,” said Moreno Armuzzi, sales manager at Jingold. “Compared with last year, available volumes are broadly in line, but we have managed to expand our customer base thanks to the activation of some new programmes.”

He added that the campaign is still in its early weeks and that it will be important to monitor market developments throughout the summer.

Varietal innovation and organic growth

This summer, Exotic Red once again confirms its strategic role within the company’s premium offer. With its bright red heart, high sweetness and pleasant tropical aromatic notes, it continues to stand out as one of the most innovative varieties in the category.

At the core of the offer remains yellow-fleshed kiwifruit, Jingold’s flagship variety and a key driver of its international growth, thanks to its consistent quality and distinctive organoleptic characteristics.

“Alongside our exclusive varieties, this year we are also increasing imports into Europe of organic Hayward kiwifruit under the Jingold brand from Argentina,” Armuzzi explained. “This allows us to expand the availability of organic product and respond to the growing demand for this reference from certain market segments.”

Further international development

Alongside the commercial campaign, Jingold continues to strengthen its production project in the southern hemisphere. Cultivated areas are steadily expanding, supported by the consolidation of local partnerships and the company’s direct investments.

The main growth opportunities are currently in South Africa and Chile. In South Africa, new plantings continue to expand thanks to favourable environmental conditions, while in Chile Jingold is reinforcing its presence through new investments in a country that has long represented a strategic origin for the group.

Kiwifruit maintains its place in summer

During the summer months, kiwifruit faces strong competition from a wide range of seasonal fruit. Nevertheless, Jingold continues to see stable demand from customers looking for continuity of assortment and from consumers who remain loyal to the product.

“In the main European markets, kiwifruit continues to maintain its place on the shelves throughout the year, especially when we are talking about innovative, high-value varieties such as those developed by Jingold,” concluded Moreno Armuzzi.

“The ability to guarantee continuous supply and high quality standards is a distinguishing factor that continues to reward our company’s international model. This is supported by the strength of the relationships we have built with our
