The project applies the Jingold model to avocado, based on a strong focus on quality, consistently high standards, control throughout the entire value chain and the enhancement of origin.

From a production perspective, the project currently covers more than 80 hectares in southern Italy. With active production in Basilicata, Calabria, Campania and Sicily, and a development plan aiming to reach 100 hectares in the coming years, also supported by partnerships with specialised companies and the establishment of new plantations in Sicily.

A key element of the project’s development is training: Jingold continuously invests in the upskilling of its technicians and the farmers involved, with the aim of building a solid and qualified value chain for a crop that is still relatively new in the country. All of this is supported by consolidated know-how and an international commercial network that have positioned the company as a global benchmark for excellence and innovation.

On Thursday, 23 April, Jingold will also take centre stage at Macfrut in terms of content, with its participation in technical sessions focused on emerging sector trends.

From 10:00 to 12:00, in Hall 5B, Stefano Baldi, assistant for general affairs and business development at Jingold, will speak at the conference “Mango and avocado, an opportunity for southern Italy”, where he will present the project “Italian Avocado by Jingold”, a new initiative marking a concrete step in the company’s diversification strategy towards high-growth categories.

Sport at Macfrut with Jingold

Jingold opened the second day of Macfrut with the “Healthy Walk & Run” and on Thursday, 23 April, presents at the fair its Italian Avocado project, with more than 80 hectares already active and a development plan up to 100 hectares in southern Italy.

The second day of Macfrut began with a sunrise run along the Rimini seafront, focused on wellness, social interaction and networking among industry professionals. The “Jingold Healthy Walk & Run”, now in its second edition, confirms this format as one of the distinctive elements of the global kiwi specialist’s presence at the fair, translating its corporate values of active lifestyles and healthy eating into a tangible experience.

The run started at 6:30 a.m. from the Hotel Embassy in Rimini. The route continued to the pier and then returned to the hotel, where participants shared a breakfast offered by Jingold.

Participation and content at Macfrut

Jingold’s participation in Macfrut 2026 is structured around a programme combining experiential activities and technical content. The 22 April agenda, in addition to the wellness-focused opening, included the start of trade fair activities and a visit to Jingold’s fields, providing an opportunity for direct exchange on agronomic practices and production models.

In the afternoon, the focus shifted to relationships with partners, members and clients, culminating in the Jingold Party, a networking event in a relaxed and informal setting.

On Thursday, 23 April, from 10:00 to 12:00 in Hall 5B, Stefano Baldi will again take part in the conference “Mango and avocado, an opportunity for southern Italy”, presenting the Italian Avocado by Jingold project as part of the company’s diversification strategy.

Agri-food value chains and sustainable models

Also on Thursday morning, at 10:30 in Room TBC, Jingold’s CEO Alessandro Fornari will participate in the conference “The true value of food: an innovative Italian agri-food value chain model in the international context”, promoted by CIHEAM Bari within the framework of the True Value of Food project.

The panel aims to highlight how economic competitiveness and environmental and social sustainability can be integrated into innovative value chain models aligned with the objectives of the 2030 Agenda and the priorities of the international debate on sustainable food systems.

In this context, Fornari’s presentation will focus on the Jingold business model, highlighting the distinctive elements of its value chain: from close collaboration with growers to the dissemination of know-how and research, as well as the ability to replicate the model across different production areas in both the northern and southern hemispheres where the company operates.

Particular attention will also be given to key initiatives and best practices in sustainability throughout the value chain, underlining the strategic role of agri-food companies in generating value and accessing new markets through more responsible production models.
